Early voting trends are drawing attention across key battleground states as the United States approaches the November 3, 2026, midterm elections. With control of the Senate at stake, turnout patterns in states such as Texas, North Carolina, Ohio, Georgia and Michigan are being closely monitored by political parties, analysts and election observers.
An Associated Press analysis published on October 21 reported a sharp rise in early voting compared with the same point in the 2022 midterm cycle. Texas recorded a 74% increase, while Kansas more than doubled its early vote total. North Carolina, Ohio and Maine also reported increases of over 30%. However, turnout patterns vary by state, and higher early voting numbers do not automatically indicate which party is gaining an advantage.
