Godfather - A Real Life Mafia Hitman Luca Brasi

In the #Godfather the actor who played the role of Luca Brasi was a real life #mafia hitman, a member of the Colombo family. He was following Francis #coppola around in the set when the director Coppola noticed him as a perfect person to play Luca Brasi. Problem was that Lenny Montana never acted in his life and kept fumbling his lines in front of Marlon Brando. To make this to look natural, he shot another scene of him practicing his greeting to Don Corleone to make it look like the character was nervous. The rehearsal scene was not in #mariopuzo book nor in the movie script. Luca Brasi was one of the most memorable characters in this #academy #bestpicture and Best director winning film. He played over 20 similar roles and even was in a Jackie Chan movie.
