Delhi Police has registered an FIR against unidentified persons for allegedly threatening a Special Executive Magistrate during the bail proceedings of CJP leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das. The case comes amid allegations by CJP that the release of its leaders is being deliberately delayed and that four bail sureties were rejected without clear reasons. The two leaders were arrested on October 12 over alleged unauthorised entry into Jantar Mantar ahead of a tricolour rally. CJP has questioned their continued detention, arguing that waving the national flag should not be treated as a crime. The allegations are yet to be independently established.
